“I’ve been back in Nigeria for about a month and loving it; other than enjoying all the local favorites such as Amala and Abula, I have put together my official band. The name of the band is JaneliaSoul; we mainly do originals and have added a few covers such as “Zombie” by Fela Kuti. We have been in rigorous rehearsals and my manager, Sunday Are, who is also a great instrumentalist, has been giving us pointers as we get ready for concerts; I’m not the type that likes to brag but when you see my band perform live, let’s just say we are ready to blow your mind! Since I’ve been back, I have also conducted a series of Radio and TV interviews in Lagos – Lord, that Lagos traffic is a beast! It was a real hustle getting from one interview to another and there were days that I had 3 or 4 interviews, starting my day at 5AM and not getting to bed until around midnight or later; however, it’s been worth it all, I love this music hustle, LOL.
