Carterson (real name – Gbubemi Wisdom Ogholaja) alias Tha Virus is a witty Nigerian emcee/lyricist; raised in the suburbs of Delta state, he started rhyming and writing songs at the age of 12 and began recording in the year 2013 – he’s inspired by his environment, life, and the rhythm of other great prolific emcees and song-writers – he has contributed to a number of mix-tapes (released & unreleased) as well as participated and won a few Rap competitions. He has been getting recommendations from known veterans in the industry such as Eva Alordiah, T.R (formerly Terry tha Rapman), Pherowshuz and A-Q, just to mention a few, and this has got his name ringing; he has undoubtedly done a lot in trying to carve a name for himself in the industry – “I Am Legend (EP)” serves as his 1st body of work and features artists including A-Q, Pherowshuz, ForsakenChild (Canada), Jiceboii, Tek Raymond, Slimbuck and others.
After shaking the very foundations of the Nigerian underground Hip-Hop scene when he released the 1st singles off this mix-tape (“Superhuman,” “No Tellin” & “The Last
Kings“), we have the much anticipated project here.
“I have always stayed focus all my life in other to make something great, something like the ‘I Am Legend’ mix-tape; most tracks aren’t new but they all have a message to pass – this tape has been in my draft since December 2014.” Carterson says.
