Following the steady releases of Rap singles, amounting to 7 different singles spanning a period of about 8 months and doing Nigeria proud in far-away Asia, China-based Nigerian rapper/MC, BJ-Mighty, finally lets out his long-awaited EP, an Anthology, or better yet – simply put – a compilation of never-before-heard offerings, “My Microphone, My Majesty“; this EP is being released under his indie outfit, Millytant Musikulz.
Armed with heavy punch-lines and sick word-plays over deep metaphorical expressions, he never misses a chance to display these attributes on every track [an example is the highly publicized “#OneTakeRap [a Yung6ix diss]” which earned him a spot on many Hip-Hop head’s playlist]; except for 2 freestyle tracks, the rapper/producer went all-out flexing his production versatility by producing and mixing every track on the album – a risky decision no Nigerian artiste have ever been able to take.
The energy put into this project points to the fact that “My Microphone, My Majesty” promises to be an interesting Hip-Hop album, a must-have for real heads who are vast in the knowledge of the genre and appreciate lyricism especially in today’s Nigerian music era where most rappers are nothing but glorified singers and dancers; the question to follow upon listening to this EP would be – IS THIS CAT THE NEW UNDERGROUND KING? | ENJOY!!!
