Nigerian R&B artist and musician Wray returns with a brand new single for 2012 titled “Be Your Man” and a befitting music video directed by Quincy J. Isah and Brian Would as it’s visual compliment.
Laced with Wray’s trademark lush and inviting vocals as well as an excellent live musical milieu made up of a head-bopping blend of live drums, percussions, bass guitar and keyboard arrangements brought together by Teebeeoon production, “Be Your Man” is a brilliant return to form for Wray – the consummate artist and performer who brought us previous singles such as “Naija Salsa” and the 2kriss-featured “Night Shift”.
Shot on location in London, United Kingdom, the music video for Wray’s “Be Your Man” is a well-crafted black and white tableau that captures Wray in his elements not only as a complete live performer as he leads his mammoth 8-piece band in a live rendition of “Be Your Man” but also as a charming leading man as he serenades his leading lady with his beautiful vocals and witty charm.
Talented Nigerian R&B Singer/Songwriter WRAY [real name Raymond Ernest Odigie Jnr] is back in 2012 with a sizzling new single titled “Be Your Man” which is produced by Teebeeo and off of his forthcoming debut album The Introduction.
Born and raised in the South side of Nigeria, the hugely talented artist and experienced musician began his career in 2006 with the group MVP family alongside Topaz, Don Montero and Maori. Wray went solo in 2008 and signed a recording contract with UK record label I Like It Records UK which lasted until 2010 and gave us the single “Naija Salsa”. In the same year, Wray official launched his own record label, Wray Music.
As an experienced musician, Wray plays a plethora of musical instruments from the drums to the bass guitar to the bongos, which he implements superbly in his music giving him that distinct and unique feel as different from most of the Nigerian music landscape right now. As an award-winning songwriter who grew up in Benin, he is also regarded as a true son of the soil after the release of his 2010 single “Welcome To Benin City” – an ode to his hometown and the ancient city of Benin.
WRAY is currently in UK working on his debut album titled The Introduction which is due out soon via Wray Music and will feature the likes of 2Kriss, King D, Rocksteady, Mista Dry GIN and many more.
