Star Actor, Gabriel Afolayan is one dynamic individual who has got deep interest in music, and he comes up with this impressive single titled “Kokoro Ife [Love bug]” which has been receiving massive airplay and sparking up accolades from teeming fans, colleagues and friends.
Managed by “Studio 6 Multimedia Limited“, Gabriel has been honing his singing skills as far back as when he was a little baptist chorister. In 1997, he was signed as a back up singer to a studio called “Phynix” in Ibadan, Oyo State as well as a one-man band. He also had a musical group while in the univeristy [University of Ibadan]. The son of late film maker Adeyemi Afolayan and brother to accomplished actors, Kunle and Aremu Afolayan is chanelling every faction of his talents into becoming a well-rounded artiste.
Driven not by the need to supplement his acting earnings with music but mainly by passion for the art; Gabriel isn’t cowed by the presence of other established or upcoming artistes; with African Soul as his chosen genre of music, the debutante is rather focused on creating a niche for himself in the burgeoning industry and breaking more grounds.
The fast-rising artiste who’s featuring notable music acts in his album [which is in view] is influenced by Anthony Hamilton, Mario, Lauren Hill, Brandy, Smoky Robinson, King Sunny Ade, Haruna Ishola, Ebenezer Obey, KWAM 1, Obesere, Victor Uwaifo, SSP Pasuma, TY Bello, Tiwa Savage, 2face Idibia, Banky W, Sound Sultan, Asa, Yinka Davies, Ego, Wande Coal, Lara George, Terry G and lots more.
