Peridot<\/em><\/strong> and Cinema Kpatakpata<\/em><\/strong> are proud to announce the release of the trailer for their beautiful poignant film, “The Lost Caf\u00e9<\/strong>“; the film is an uplifting story about a girl’s decision to rise above dark family secrets and culture, live her dreams abroad, finding the most unusual answers to her troubling questions somewhere in Drammen<\/em> where she meets the half blind strange owner of a quaint coffee shop that serves the best coffee in the world.<\/p>\n

“The Lost Caf\u00e9<\/strong>” had support from Angenieux<\/em><\/strong> in France<\/em>, Catapult Film<\/em><\/strong> in Norway<\/em> and Project Act Nollywood<\/em><\/strong> in Nigeria<\/em>; the film is helmed by acclaimed film-maker, Kenneth Gyang<\/strong>, for Peridot<\/em><\/strong> and Cinema Kpatakpata<\/em><\/strong>. AMVCA<\/em> Best Supporting Actress<\/em><\/strong> nominee, Tunde Aladese<\/em><\/strong>, stars as Ose<\/em><\/strong> with support from Belinda Effah<\/em><\/strong> and Ann Njemanze<\/em><\/strong> in Nigeria<\/em> and Terje Lien<\/em><\/strong>, Jenny Bonden<\/em><\/strong> and Anders Lidin Hansen<\/em><\/strong> in Norway<\/em>. Norway<\/em>-based Regina Udalor<\/em><\/strong> is the producer and the film’s idea stemmed from her short script; Screenplay<\/em> by Ifesinachi Okoli Akpagwu<\/em><\/strong> and Jeremiah Gyang<\/em><\/strong> is the film’s music producer with Akor Udalor<\/em><\/strong> as the executive producer.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Gyang<\/em><\/strong>
\nKenneth Gyang<\/strong> is a writer and director that has been working in film and television since 2006<\/strong> having graduated from the National Film Institute<\/strong> in Jos; notable projects in television included working as a director for the BBC’s Wetin Dey<\/strong> and SoundCity’s Finding Aisha<\/strong>, for which he won Screen Producer of the Year<\/strong> at The Future Awards<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

To date, Kenneth<\/strong> has directed 2<\/strong> feature films: the political love story, “Blood and Henna (2012)<\/strong>” and Cinema Kpatakpata<\/strong>‘s debut, “Confusion Na Wa (2013)<\/strong>,” which received funding by the Rotterdam Film Festival’s Hubert Bals Fund.<\/em><\/p>\n
