The highly anticipated extended play release, “Damiete (The EP),” by Loxxy, from the stable of Loxxy Music/NoDaysOff, is finally with us; this is a concise and diverse body of work, backed by it’s critically acclaimed lead singles, “Like Conga,” “Amen,” “Negotiate” and “Jeje,” which are still play-listed by Rythm FM, Wazobia, Ray Power and Love FM with further support coming from Silver Bird, Sound City, African Magic and HipTV. The EP is a perfectly rounded 10 track affair, highlighting Loxxy‘s compelling artistry and infectious Afrobeats, Highlife, Afro-Reggae and Hip-Hop sensibility; the project sees the artist collaborating with a range of experienced producers around Nigeria and Europe like Victor E-Tracks, Chimaga, Orlando, Oga Gem, Omeiza (London) and Eliot Bowe (Netherland) to bring all 10 songs to life, with Sir. Anthony Lawrence, co-writing a few and Mr. Brown assisting as well.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the EP, Loxxy says,
“The EP was about one thing – ‘thanksgiving’; this was his opportunity to give thanks to God for taking him this far in his music career, knowing where he started from and the sudden rise in his music career – no better feeling than being thankful to my Maker, Provider and Sponsor for showing me this much love and favor.”
