Arome [real name – Arome Adaji] is one remarkable gospel rock artiste with an impressive panache for music. He was born to Elder and Late Mrs. Laraba Y. Adaji and jails from Kogi state, Igala by tribe. At a young age, he was taught how to play the drums and piano by a French professor; this launched him into the world of music at a tender age. Arome is a song writer, performer and good writer; he’s written 5 books and published 1 [Issues Of The Heart]. He is a proficient lyricist, philanthropist, songwriter and an instrumentalist. At 10 years of age, he was already single-handedly singing at the school assembly and playing in the school band. When he was 15 years old, he was in the mature choir of his church. Arome’s encounter with the fusion of gospel contemporary African Hip-Hop started with sampling the works of Bishop Fred Addo, Kirk Franklin, Jeremy Camp, Bebe, Anthony Evans, Jesus Culture Rock Group and Dr. Panam Percy Paul in 1987.

In 1995, he started a degree course in Theater Arts, at the University of Abuja and later moved to Ahmadu Bello University to study English Dram, then Masters in Communications. He founded and performed at all major concerts with his contemporary group then called the “The Epistles“. The group won several awards, most notably the Best Contemporary Group on campus between 19992001. After graduation, Arome went to Lagos where he became a music director and worked with several groups and churches. He is the initiator of “The Widow’s Mite Concert” and “The Nigeria Child Fiesta” which brings together different children from different orphanages in Abuja during the Christmas period for a live concert with various artistes. His style of music cut across every ethnic group in Nigeria, because of his versatile style of singing with different languages in Africa. Arome has been produced by notable producers like Tee-Y Mix, GospelonDeBeatz, Dr. Sam, Niyi P, J Treash, Mallam T Bass and VC Perez.

He has also worked with several artistes like Samsong, Solomon Lange [both who performed on his yet to be released 2012 CD]. His music is a blend of Rock and Afro Beats. Listen to “God Pass Dem” on which he features Benjizu. | ENJOY!!!
