Commencing his #TGi3F project which has been widely announced and teased about via his Social Media pages, Frankie Free cocks a hoop and gallantly trumps out the 1st instalment of his new weekly series, #TGi3F (Thank God it’s Frankie Free’s Friday) – a weekly series which would see the young budding act let out a cover/freestyle with every episode of it being released every 3rd Friday of the month. Not new to the music scene, Frankie Free has been around for a while and the producer-cum-artiste has worked with some of the biggest names within the Nigerian music industry scene including the likes of the legendary Fuji maestro, Pasuma Wonder, Hip-Hop maniacs Yung6ix and Erigga, Pop act Lace and many more; he’s set to begin his #TGi3F project with the 1st offering being a cover to “I’m The One,” a song written and performed by American musician DJ Khaled, Canadian singer Justin Bieber, and American rappers Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil’ Wayne – “I’m The One” was released on April 28, 2017, by We the Best and Epic Records as the 2nd single from DJ Khaled‘s 10th studio album, “Grateful” – “I’m the One” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the 1st number-one single on the chart for DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo (as a solo performer apart from Migos).
“I’m The One” is the 1st Hip-Hop song to do so since “Not Afraid” by Eminem in 2010, as it became Justin Bieber‘s 4th chart-topper, following the 1st 3 singles off “Purpose“; Lil’ Wayne topped the chart for the 3rd time in his career, but for the 1st time since 2009 – the song also entered the UK Singles Chart at number one, a 1st for DJ Khaled, Quavo, Lil’ Wayne, and Chance the Rapper; it was Justin Bieber‘s 5th chart-topping song in the UK – it also entered at Number 1 in Australia, Scotland, and Canada, and debuted in the Top 10 in countries including Germany, Ireland, and New Zealand.
With the song achieving such an outstanding feat, we see Frankie Free being the daredevil as he thrives under the pressure of such statistics as the original proved, and rides solemnly on the number; with the 1st instalment of his #TGi3F kicking off with such magnitude, it’s safe to say that his fans and music pundits alike are in for a good ride with this weekly series – listen up and share your thoughts. | ENJOY!!!
