Fefe [pronounced, Fayfay] is undoubtedly one of the next big female acts to watch out for from these parts; born Efemena Olori on March 16th 1987, in Delta state, Nigeria, she is blessed with a truly distinct voice and style that puts her clearly apart from other counterparts. Fefe discovered her gift at an early age, performing at her family’s annual Christmas Eve parties, which she would spend months before Christmas practicing for; she joined the choir at church and was a favorite at events in the schools she attended, so it is safe to imply that she has been performing all her life. Her early musical influences are Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill and TLC, which clearly reflects in her sound – a mix of R&B and Afrocentric Hip-Hop; her more recent influences include Jhene Aiko and Janelle Monae to mention a few.
“Aura,” her 1st official single, was produced by DJ Klem and was released in August 2013; the song was recently featured on the MTN Y’ello Top 10 Countdown and a massive favorite with OAPs on Beat 99.9FM, Top Radio 90.9FM and City 105.1FM in Lagos. Since it’s release, she has gone on to perform at events such as the HP Music Festival, One Mic Naija, the Beat FM/Naija FM NYSC Concert and many more; she was also featured in the 2nd edition of entertainment and lifestyle magazine, Reloaded, as an artiste to watch out for in 2014.
In October 2014, Fefe was signed to The Goretti Company and Capital Hill Music Joint Venture, home to star acts like IllBliss, Chidinma and super-talented producer, David Peter also known as Tha Suspect; her follow up single is titled “Kilowi,” a perfect blend of her signature R&B/Soul style, with elements of new age Hip-Hop, absolutely urban Naija Music. | ENJOY!!!
