[#ACE_] Aduke – FOR OLANIPEKUN [A Poem – Tribute to Da’Grin]

Aduke has come to stay and she’s breaking grounds gradually and is already becoming a household name to major music lovers. First time we had her on here, she came through with “Made in Lagos” and she followed up with her #OccupyNigeria track titled “Hear the Voice” which she also shot a music video for and was directed by “Dj Tee“. Recently, she dropped two new singles titled “Far Away” and “Leke Leke” – Aduke is a Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Dancer, Poet, and also, a wonderful Guitarist and now, she’s come through with her poetic prowess as she delivers this amazing poem for the late “DaGrin“. Aduke titles the poem – “For Olanipekun” and I must say she did well on this piece.

The AceWorldTEAM has decided to include the late rappers’ “If I Die” track at the end of the poem. ENJOY!!!

Eyes closed and body cold
Lips dry, won’t even twitch to funny jokes
It’s a journey to eternity
A voyage without return
The news spread like fire
He was not just an ordinary “bagger”
Cell-phones ringing off the hook
An entire nation thrown into gloom

“Iku iba gbowo
A a ba fun
Iku i ba gba eran
A a ba ra agbo fun”

In the corner of my bed too shocked to shed tears
I think of the essence of having your life to mend
The news ruse all together different stories fed
Ignorantly or not, reality! our minds cleared
A few more years, it won’t hurt this much
What will linger are the things you’ve done
Indeed, your deeds are on the soils of the world
And will germinate into Iroko now that you’re gone

Your demise shatters the heart to bereavement
Expectant, were the yearnings of your devotees
Different stories, which one should be believed?
Some say alcohol put the car on full speed
But who should blame you for how lived [nobody holy pass jo]
Everyone sometimes loose it a bit
It’s a pity yours didn’t end so sweet
